The World Wakeboard Association is proud to announce the first ever FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 7th, 2008
The World Wakeboard Association announces event dates and locations for a five stop Wake Park World Series to be held across the globe in 2008. This professional series is the first of its kind, and will continue to open the door for competitive wakeboarding in the wake park segment of the sport. With the success of last year’s domestic wake park series in the United States, the WWA has responded to the broader market with this new series by encompassing Asia and Europe. “We are extremely excited about the 2008 Wake Park World Series,” says Matt Hickman, VP of the WWA. “Bringing the wake world together through events and creating equal standards that all riders can enjoy is what the WWA is all about; and this global series aligns perfectly with that vision.” Riders from around the world will gather at five events in 2008 to compete and accumulate points for the overall series title. There will be an overall cash prize bonus of $17,500 to be distributed to the top 5 overall winners, in addition to large cash purses at each event. The Protest Pro Am in Toulouse, France will kick off the series on May 8th, followed by the WWA Wake Park World Championships at CWC in the Philippines. The series will then go on to Kiev, Ukraine, and Copenhagen, Denmark with a final stop in Germany at the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds event. The event dates and locations are as follows:
